This toolkit is for third-level educators looking to prepare design students to be conscientious and impactful designers in a world facing a climate and ecological emergency.

This toolkit offers:

  • A thorough introduction to professional practices in design, introducing students to working methods and professional practices within their specific design disciplines

  • Encourages a deep understanding of sustainability, providing students with the ability to explore sustainable design practices, research behavioural change tactics, and more

  • Uses a variety of teaching methods, incorporating a mix of lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops, and self-directed study to engage students in various ways

  • Offers practical, hands-on experience to help students understand the real-world implications of their work

  • Connects students with industry professionals to give students direct insight into how professionals are committed to sustainable design

  • Contributes to a positive impact. This toolkit equips students to become agents of change who can contribute to a more sustainable and equitable world
